Photos from Nabokov Arts Club
Our Festival of the Dead collaboration at Nabokov Arts Club was an orgy of incantation, confetti cannons and UV body paint. We summoned a masked mass, sacrificed the king and the queen, beat to death some effigies in the form of full-size human pinatas, and then had a massive UV zombie rave-up as the portal between the living and the dead was opened. You can see Karla Gowlett's tremendous photos of the event here.
tangled feet are now a charity!
We are really excited to announce that in August we gained Charitable Status. This means we welcome Annabelle Turpin (Artistic Director, Stockton ARC), Pete Stephens (Finance Director, Coin Street Group) and Beccy Allen (Creative Director, STEP) onto our board alongside long-term ensemble member Emily Eversden. We'll be updating more fully what this means for the company (and how you can support us) in due course. Our new charity number is 1143406.
Support from ACE for organisational development
We're also really pleased that Arts Council England have approved our GFTA
application for a grant towards Organisational Development, which allows
us to maximise our transition to charity status, get really ambitious with
our participation programme, as well as plot an exciting season of work for
2012 .
tangled feet at Nabokov Arts Club at BAC
On 28th and 29th October tangled feet will be collaborating with Nabokov and
playwright Polly Stenham to kick off the return of this legendary event at
its new home, BAC, for Halloween weekend.
The spirits are restless, the souls of the departed are returning; a portal
has been found. The dead and the living will unite again for one final, massive
party, before ghouls and ghosts, zombies, skeletons and goblins pass through
to the next world…
An extravaganza of live theatre, music, cabaret, comedy, poetry and visual art wrapped up in a big fat party, the Arts Club, previously featured in The Guardian and ‘Best Nights out 2009’ in The Independent, showcases the best new work, first, from the most exciting emerging artists alongside some of the biggest names in the business.
The tangled feet performance will remain shrouded in mystery until the night
- but as anyone who remembers our
last Arts Club collaboration will attest,
it promises to be pretty exciting. Tickets are £15 in advance or £20 on the
door and can be found here
