Wishful
In collaboration with Emergency Exit Arts
Summer 2010 saw tangled feet working on a one off spectacular piece with Emergency
Exit Arts for the finale of Paradise Gardens Festival 2010 - Wishful. It was
also the start of a new ongoing creative relationship between EEA and tangled
feet. Emergency Exit Arts are pioneers in outdoor spectacles and have been
producing work for 30 years so this was an amazing opportunity for tangled
feet to explore the hunger for large-scale outdoor work with a leading company.

Tangled Feet collaborated with community and youth performers by working with
over 50 people to create a mass chorus executing devised movement which supported
the narrative of the show and communicated directly with the audience. This
is also involved a 12 piece Samba band made up of tangled feet performers who
led the crowd from the main stage at Paradise Gardens Festival to the lake
in Victoria Park where thousands of people had already assembled.
The following 30-minute extravaganza involved 25-40 feet puppets on and off the lake and Human Catherine wheels, all manipulated by core tangled feet performers. The community chorus led by tangled feet members lined the banks of the lake and performed physical routines that linked the large scale spectacle to the close up audience.
